I received a lot of new account requests on Sunday 6/13

I received a lot of registration requests on Sunday 6/13. Since they came in such a short period of time, I am a little weary of approving the requests, but I am going to and hope for the best and hope these new posters mean well.

With all of the trolling over at Earthboppin, there's a few people there that don't like me and other members here, so you just never know.

I think for the time being I'm going to change the process for account registration again and require the person to message me first with a request. Once I see who the person is and I approve, I will allow them to register a profile.

I hate to be so uptight about this, but absolutely am going to do my best to avoid the trolling issues here and this seems to be the only way to do so.

I rarely post and I am not that kind of poster. I joined to show my support for you and this group of yours.

Thank you Ron I apologize for being so cautious, it just struck me odd that I got so many requests in just a few hours and piqued my curiosity and concern. I don't get that many requests in one month, and to get them all within 3-4 hours was concerning.

Yes, especially since there seems to be a couple of people who have it out for me. Or, one very sick person who can't decide who they are each time they make a post to irritate me.

I wouldn't be surprised if they try to register just to start crap here too.

Hi Kate. You may want to use a password. A person signs in to post they must include the password. If you want to block them you just block the password. Without it they can't post. Not 100% foolproof, but you can cut down on the trash. No one gets to see the password except you.

You could assigned the password or let them make up their own, but either way that is the one they must use in order to post. It's a sorry deal that it comes to that just because there are a few jerks who want to spoil if for others. I guess you could chalk it up to the signs of the times. Take Care...Don

Don, that's a great idea. I don't want to get too intrusive in people's privacy and therefore just assumed I should give a generic password and then have them change it, but that would require too much follow up on my part. I'm going to have a lengthy response here, so forgive me.

Thanks to the few jerks out there that have nothing better to do, I have to be this way. I wanted anyone to have access to post on these boards, however it doesn't seem like that is going to be possible now. While I like to give the benefit of the doubt to everyone, in some instances it's better to go with my gut feeling and know that something doesn't seem right.

The way I'm looking at it right now is this. I truly believe we have all of the members we really need and want. I understand there are people out there, who are genuine and want to be a positive contributing member of our community, however due to a few rotten apples in the barrel, I need to check them all first.

At this time I'm really no considering any requests. I don't have the time to keep up with it and honestly, I love what an amazing group we already have. I'm not trying to be an elitist nor am I trying to slight EB in any way, but I promised I'd keep a tight ship here and I intend to hold up to that. I respect everyone here and I'm so proud we have been able to communicate our feelings on things, as different as they may be at times, without insults and disrespect.

We have not had any flaming or disrespect here and that's because I have chose who we let in and monitored things closely. Should anyone that I have allowed in try to be intentionally disrespectful and or/derogatory to another poster, I will terminate their membership and since I'm not allowing new members at this time, they will not get access to this site.

I have also removed the option for any guest being allowed to post, so I apologize to those of you who have posted under the guest mode, but you will no longer be able to.

I guess we could sum it up to a sign of the times, but what does that say about humanity in general? I guess that most of the population has regressed mentally and only knows how to act like high schoolers....

It's a Hydra... And I'd wager that it's probably already here. It will most likely just lurk until it can't stand it any more, and then it will strike.

After reading a post on another board, I agree you should ask ryan to take the link down from the other site.
I went back there after they came back up in April, but Things quickly degenerated and I got to the point where if there was anything I wanted my peeps from there to know, I just emailed them.
