Journ"O"list...why no MSM is covering this... Empty Journ"O"list...why no MSM is covering this...

Post  Grits Sun 25 Jul 2010, 3:16 pm

Most in the country don't know what "Journolist" is...wonder why? Maybe because most of the supposed journalists on the secret list are MSM reporters and contributors.

Journolist (I've heard the O stands for Obama Rolling Eyes ) was a private member only listserv group of liberal reporters that met to discuss ways to support Obama and destroy Republicans and conservatives.

Tucker Carlson a former MSNBC reporter is the person that exposed the group. Tucker has never been one of my favorites, but he scores a few brownie points with me with this expose. Here are his comments:

Letter from Editor-in-Chief Tucker Carlson on The Daily Caller’s Journolist coverage

Much of the coverage of Obama leading up to the election and the attempted destruction of Sarah Palin was carried out by this group. I urge you to investigate on your own and see how the media is swayed in this country. Basically true journalism in this country is dead. This group proves it. Take everything you hear in the media with a grain of salt and look for other sources to back up what they report. That goes for all media.

Here is the list so far as compiled by a FreeRepublic poster:

Again, another "surprise" that should surprise me but just doesn't. I have long thought that journalism in this country was dead. My grandfather always gave me good advice. He told me to "read between the lines" of every story that you read or see. His comment meant that I should not just believe what was being printed but that I needed to make my own independent assessment of what was reported and then see if it was true and go from there. I have for the most part always looked that way at the media. He would be shocked to see how far the media has gone. He was a Democrat because he was a union member. However I think even he would be dismayed by the way politics has been played, especially over the past several years. He passed away in 1989 so he never got to see the internet. I am sure that it would surpise him to see what it has become and how much information is now available to people to read.

People need to do their homework. They really do.

I've told this story over at EB before, so forgive me if you've already heard it already...geek

I never completely trusted the media but I didn't know they just blatantly lie whenever they feel like it until I participated in the Judge Roy Moore 10 Commandment rallies at the Alabama Supreme Court. I saw so much at those rallies that really opened my eyes to media bias.

I went to every single rally (nighttime) and they lasted a few weeks. The people that attended these rallies were from all across the U.S. and even a few from foreign countries. ALL of them were very peaceful and very spiritual events. There was a group of atheists that stood on one corner and shouted out stuff the whole time and so a group of Christians took the other corner and basically just held signs, prayed, and read from the Bible. The news media always made a big deal out of the protesters and on any given night there was not more than 10 or so of them. Attendance at the rallies were in the hundreds every night and on a couple of occasions in the thousands...that was my first observation.

I could only attend the night time rallies due to work, but my friend went to the day time rallies also. One day there was a guy that got really upset and started shouting about them removing the 10 Commandments monument. She was standing right next to him when it happened. The WHOLE INCIDENT lasted a couple of minutes as others in the crowd took the guy off to the side and calmed him down and told him he was doing a disservice to the others there as there had not been one incident up until then that had gotten out of hand. Well, the next day this guy's rant was blasted all over the news and that went on for a few days and was in NO WAY representative of the crowds there. I know some people that knew this guy and they said he was a really nice guy but easily upset and would get upset sometimes at football games and yell, so this wasn't entirely out of character for him and he felt really bad that the lost his temper and caused a bad light to shine on the rallies. That was my second observation.

There was some other minor stuff, but the one that took the cake for me was a guy from CNN blatantly lying about something that happened in the courtroom the day before Judge Moore lost his case. Mysteriously all the microphones in the courtroom had quit working the day Judge Moore was supposed to testify, so instead of sitting him in the box to testify, they sat him at a table in front of the other justices. They sat Attorney General Bill Pryor directly behind Judge Moore and had him basically staring at Judge Moore's neck...so when it came time for Judge Moore to testify, he stood up, picked up the little table, turned it around and stated that he had a RIGHT to face his accusers (Bill Pryor who CONVENIENTLY got a plumb judge's position not long after this trial...hmmmmm scratch ). Well, the CNN reporter "reported" Rolling Eyes that Judge Moore turned his table around to wave to his supporters... Rolling Eyes

Me and another girl were standing next to the reporter when he did that live on tv and afterwards we asked him why he lied...he just laughed at us and walked away...

...that's when I KNEW I'd never believe anything they ever said again...

Just like with Palin. I was a fan of hers before it was announced that she was McCain's VP pick. She has a stellar record in Alaska and is one tough cookie so when the lies and innuendos about her came out, I knew better and knew it was a media hatchet job.

See grits, this is the whole pattern of the MSM that most people don't understand. Just look at the vacation that Michelle Obama is taking in Spain. However, if you look at the media there is barely an utterance of the trip from anyone at CNN or MSNBC. Yet if that had been Laura Bush or a Sarah Palin, it would have gotten front page coverage by all MSM outlets and they would have been hammered all day long. Not such the case here. Look at how when George Bush would go on vacation at his own ranch, the MSM would complain endlessly. First off he owned the property and secondly he didn't have to take a group of peole with him there. Yes, he had the VP and even Sec of State come to visit him and stay a few nights. But it wasn't like taking 70 secret service personnel overseas, plus all of their vehicles. This trip to Spain by Michelle Obama staying in a hotel that costs $2500 per night is costing the US taxpayers a pretty penny. It took three planes to fly over there. What is really out of place is the fact that you hear the president saying all the time that "we have to tighten our belts and sacrifice". Is this sacrifice or tightening one's belt? I don't think so. Aren't there enough places within the US that they could have gone on vacation and given a boost to the economy. Nope because this particular administration and president and first lady don't like the country very much. However the manipulation of the media is what gets me most. Had this been a different party in power and this type of trip taken under the current economic circumstances, they would have been taken to the woodshed and beaten like a red headed step-child. They would never have let up. A perfect example is what they did and keep doing to Sarah Palin. This would never be done to someone with whom they agree politically. But because Sarah Palin can think on her feet and is a real person, which is what people like about her, they just try every thing they can to sink her.

There really is no fair reporting anymore. I don't care where you look. It just doesn't happen. That is truly a disservice to the American people. We need the truth. The media has not only lost perspective, they have lost the respect of the American people. That is what is truly a shame. However they made their bed and will have to lay in it.

Also, did you hear any news yesterday about Missouri voting 71% to rebuke Obamacare there? Didn't think so...

    Here's a blog about it:

I TOTALLY agree with you...and in Sarah's case every time she utters a twitter it's covered on all networks because they want to make fun of her...I think it shows her power and the fear they have of her...

I did hear about the Missouri vote and thought it was excellent. They always say that so goes the middle of the country so goes the USA. I hope they are right. I guess that is why they call Missouri "the show me" state. They certainly showed Obama and his cronies that they aren't going to take this crap anymore.

I hope that people wake up and wake up really soon. This entire mess and the dirty dealings and all of it are just sickening to watch. It is like watching someone walk out into the water knowing that they are going to get caught up in the rip tides and you are trying to get the attention of the lifeguards and they couldn't care less. That is how I feel our country is going. It is literally falling out right from under us. Yet people just keep going on like nothing is happening. I hope I am wrong but sometimes I think the American people can be really lazy when it comes to voting and getting out these career politicians. If someone has been in office for longer than any sitting president, it is really time to make a change and say "gotta go" and get rid of them ASAP. It just is. They are not serving the people but they sure are serving themselves. That is what is most disturbing. They have this superior attitude and they don't give a rats ass if you know it or not. Our system is a "Respresentative Republic" which means that we select someone to "represent" our interests and go to DC to vote the way the constitutants would want him/her to. That isn't happening anymore and hasn't for some time. While we are a democratic society, it doesn't mean "one party rule" or "mob rule" and to hell with everyone else. The perfect example of that was the healthcare vote. Up to 70% of the people did not want it to happen yet they voted it in anyway.

I am just hoping like I said that the people wake up and make a huge change in way this country is going. If wholesale changes aren't made within the congress we are in big trouble.
