Anyone know how "Uranus in Aries" affects Earthquakes?
Is there a prediction for a 7.0+ in California before end of month?

Week beginning May 24: Uranus in Aries, Full Moon in Sagittarius, Saturn goes direct

Uranus in Aries
The big astrological event this week occurs on Thursday/Friday (depending on your time zone) with the entry of Uranus into the sign of Aries for the first time in 84 years. Uranus is the planet of rebellion and revolution, of surprises, scientific and technological breakthroughs, spiritual/mental illumination, spontaneity and sudden change. Aries is the first sign of the zodiac and carries the energy of birth, the new, the magic of beginning, and archetype of the Fool. Combined, these two archetypal principles of Uranus and Aries make for a lightning bolt, a wake-up call, a sudden compulsion to make changes. With the slower-moving planets, we seem to feel their impact before aspects and entries into signs are exact, and the tone of Uranus in Aries is indeed already showing up.
At its best, this influence gives us the courage to make our world anew, helping us break out of limiting perceptions and mental habits. At worst, it has us haring off after get-rich schemes and romantic chimeras, and falling over our own stupidity in the process. The last time Uranus entered Aries, in April 1927, it was soon followed by Jupiter, just like this year. Due to retrogrades, for several months the two planets stayed close together at 0-3 degrees Aries. That summer television was viewed for the very first time by a group of scientists, CBS was born and went on the air with 47 radio stations, and Charles Lindbergh flew solo across the Atlantic. Uranus is a liberator: in 1927 in the UK, women aged 21 and over got the vote.
As I and many other astrologers have written about extensively, this summer sees a number of intense planetary configurations in the early degrees of cardinal signs, all of which feature Uranus at zero degrees of Aries. For much of the summer, Uranus and Jupiter are conjunct while opposing Saturn and squaring Pluto. Every now and then a faster moving planet joins them, creating a peak effect. Last week we had the Venus peak, (and as I had indicated last week, there was indeed a whole lot of news about money: the stock markets plummeted and the Euro gasped for survival.) Peaks to come are June 22-24 Sun, Uranus, Jupiter, and Pluto (with Saturn still in Virgo but very close); June 26-27 Mercury, Uranus, Jupiter, and Pluto, and (Saturn); July 30-Aug 4 Mars, Uranus, Jupiter, Saturn (now at 0 Libra) and Pluto.
It’s a huge good news/bad news scenario, with outcomes unpredictable. Jupiter conjunct Uranus can be fabulous: lucky, inspiring, brilliant. (Curiously Jupiter has just lost its lower belt, all of a sudden, as it is conjuncting Uranus.) Saturn opposite Uranus can feel like a very uncomfortable squeeze, but can also bring rebalancing and breakthroughs. Uranus square Pluto brings the urge for freedom into direct confrontation with the urge to control. Major themes represented by these configurations are in the news already, some showing up as breakthroughs, some as challenges: the oil disaster in the Gulf, civil unrest in Thailand and Greece, new political structures and relationships in the UK.
What can we do to stay sane and keep things together during this time? Let go of what doesn’t work. Clinging to outmoded forms out of habit and fear is even less workable under current influences than usual. Clear out, clean up, move on. The cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn) are the most active signs: they are all about doing, changing, creating. So do, work, make. If you sit around too much this year you’ll feel frustrated, irritable and antsy. Action, movement, and courage are the qualities that can help us move most happily and productively through this extraordinary time.
Full Moon in Sagittarius
Two hours before Uranus enters Aries, we have a Full Moon in Sagittarius, at 7:07 pm Eastern, 4:07 pm Pacific on Thursday, and 12:07 am Friday in the UK, 1:07 am in Western Europe. Sagittarius, like Aries, is a fire sign. This might be one of those insomniac Full Moons for those of us who are moon-sensitive. At its best Sagittarian energy is mentally and spiritually expansive, so if you find yourself awake in the night, try meditating instead of tossing and turning.
Saturn goes direct
On Sunday May 30, Saturn goes direct at 27:50 Virgo. It moves into Libra on July 22. So this is the last pass of Saturn through those final degrees of Virgo. People born at the tail end of Virgo and Pisces are likely to find themselves working very hard these next two months. And Gemini and Sag too. You’ll need to be both diligent and patient. The turn of Saturn to direct motion allows long-term projects to move forward, especially ones involving building and finance, but it always takes work and attention. We can expect substantial contributing factors to the rumpus in the financial markets to get cleared up while Saturn is moving forward in the last degrees of Virgo, but there will be some sacrificial lambs.
There’s a lot going on this week and the energies are changeable, erratic, and confusing. If your anxiety level is going up, do what you can to stay grounded. Be well and happy!
