Our NATO derrieres are now exposed to the cold hard outcome that the US Training operation in Mali - an effort to protect the western-favored faction in Southern Mali - did not work. Those U.S. supervised Mali trainees signed up for the opposition forces in droves and are vigorously using the Libyan missing armaments and the AQUIM leaders' stockpiles (that's Al Quaida of the Mahgreb) to strike the capital in a bid to oust the leaders now occupying the South. Cycle back to the historical overview at the start of the ARGO movie. Maybe the populace doesn't like the Southern leaders who were amenable to the French.
Maybe you should catch up and read the article on the present military actions we have now joined ..... yes another thing involving all of NATO getting threatened by a band of people not taking a shine to our policies in their backyard. Now that France has started bombing them, they have pledged to bomb France.

More than 400 French troops have been deployed to the country in the all-out effort to win back the territory from the well-armed rebels, who seized control of an area larger than France nine months ago. What began as a French offensive has now grown to include seven other countries, including logistical support from the U.S. and Europe. The United States is providing communications and transport help, while Britain is sending C17 aircrafts to help Mali's allies transport troops to the frontlines. Credit to AP.
