Does anyone else watch "Drop Dead Diva"?

I'm not typically a sitcom person, but I love this show! It's well written and very funny!

My husband and teenage son totally make fun of me for it... But I don't care, it's kinda a comfort show for me.

I find that I'm more comfortable with the Walton Family, but I did see a drop dead Diva episode and live through it.

To explain, it's ironic that the worst, negative stuff I have seen are advertising the latest programs on FX and AMC. Plus the BBC show Copper is getting its audience by trying to appeal to criminals unconstrained by CSI skills.

Drop Dead Diva is calm by comparison -- but not calm in comparison to what I used to watch many decades ago. I saw it and felt that I liked it, but how can one really chill when watching cases about a crime.

Jane is a lawyer in Drop Dead Diva, but it's not really about "crime"...or did I misunderstand what you were saying beejean?

For those that haven't seen it, it's basically about this beautiful skinny model named Deb who gets killed in a car accident, goes to heaven, there is a mix-up, and she returns to earth to wake up in the body of a very smart and overweight lawyer...only she, her best friend, and her guardian angel know who she really is...

...Deb's boyfriend works at the same law firm as Jane and Jane pined away for him for the first 3 seasons, but now has found a new love in a judge she knows...

That's a short synopsis...

beejean, I know what you mean about tv though. I forgot who made the original quote but my step-dad always called it the "vast wasteland"...and these days that is certainly true.

Oh ! So that's what the flashbacks on Drop Dead Diva were about.

I saw an episode where a young swim team member was murdered in a school swimming pool, and her team-mate was charged with the murder. The Drop Dead Diva in lawyer role. Jane, was defending the young girl. The episode played out like a Columbo episode where the heavy set lawyer and her mother were gathering evidence to the best of their ability, and I won't spoil the plot outcome for you, but the ending was satisfaotory.

All the best to you, Grits! As far as the stress from the program went, I found it stressful to see a high-school aged student set up like that by acquaintances and by a family member. My sons are about that age, and all kinds of shenanigans are giving them lots of ups and downs.

Yeah, I saw that episode. That was one of the more "serious" ones...most of them are more light-hearted than that one...

Oh, hon, I feel for you. My son had some very bad years between 17-21. He was always bullied as a child and in those later teen years he got in with a bad crowd (I think looking for acceptance), but the good news is that he is 23 now and has completely turned his life around...woohoo and PTL! Hang in there...the teen years will pass...

Okay, I can't wait to see what happens tomorrow night at the wedding. I hope it's not a stupid dream sequence or something like that...sigh

Okay, just watched the finale...next season should be a hoot!
