    Strange Clouds today

Post  DearWife on Tue 20 Aug 2013, 5:33 am

I was in Berkeley today, when I noticed the clouds in the sky looked a little odd.  They were a little higher than usual.  I noticed more of them when looking towards the coast.  Some of the clouds I saw towards the Berkeley Hills.  My mother mentioned seeing electrical storms this evening towards San Francisco with no sound and no rain.

I happened to take some pictures perchance, but not of the clouds that looked vertical with plumes on top.  It looked somewhat like clouds from a fire but they were not.  Have a bit of an issue uploading...hmm.

NOAA states that there is high fire danger in the west this week:

Some tweets from San Francisco show some lightning with some vid:

Last time we had a very wild thunderstorm was back in 1999 or a few years prior I believe.  The whole bay area lit up, something unusually for me to see at the time, but I was told such shows are normal in the heartland.
