Thanks for the new site.
Thanks very much for setting this up, Socal. It was a real shock to find Earthboppin gone with no warning at all! I've been lurching all over the internet trying to find everyone, going from Brian's site to here to LIAHO! I hope most people find their way here, we had a really good community on EB.
I like the smileys, anyway. How can I get an avatar?

Another Thank You
I just wanted to add my thanks to you for this wonderful site. I'm so glad most people from EB have found their way here.
I do hope Dove makes it too, I miss her messages.

loss of Earthboppin
Thank you so much for opening this site, for us to gather again.
I was so upset when I logged on to read the posts at Earthboppin, and it was closed. oh geez, I felt like a part of me had been ripped away. It was a gathering place, and even tho I didn't post alot, I checked in and read every day, many of the wonderful comments and postings and links to other information that was offered. I felt so connected to so many in that group.
Again, thank you for doing this for us.

Hello everyone! Thanks Socal for setting this up, I don't visit EB everyday but was surprised when I realized the site was down permanently and not just for a few hours!

So many of us ...I think do not have family or group around that they can share/tell/validate or just talk about our 'sensitivities' or predictions or personal....this also has gone by the wayside as our people have spread out across the planet really....or gone to the other side.
I have more on the other side then are here now....last night I was needing to 'talk' on the phone too 'someone' and kept going down my list of who would be up so late besides me...and ..jeez, they are all gone....cept one and she is really busy with personal challenges....felt lonely...so I come in and check on here and good to see 'the family' communicating and we can post again.
I know personally, that running websites that have to do with the news or discussions can be overwhelming and also depressing when there is so much going on in the world. Somedays I also, have to just back off from my work as I start finding myself a cranky person and not much fun to be around....so in order to 'balance' ourselves back again so we can have a little joy and peace of mind in this craziness.....somethings have to go.
I just thank Ryan for taking up the reins and now SoCal .....I would hope that everyone will 'please' respect each other, lets share from a place of caring, and compassion for 'all' ....acting like mature adults .....but young at heart!.....
big hugs to you and to everyone!

It has been a little overwhelming, especially seeing how fast everyone has come together. It's given me some happy tears honestly, as I feel accomplished and that I've done something wonderful. It's given me another sense of purpose, so to speak. I also hope everyone acts like the mature adults we are, but young at heart as you say.

Thanks so much for doing this. I too was very sad to see Earth Boppin go down and wish Ryan all the best. Although I haven't always posted up until lately I do go as far back as the day the Hot Sheets Board started. And I hope that everyone will land here eventually.
I admin a board myself on Forumotion and think you will do just fine. They are excellent in security and spot on with helping. If there is any way that I can help you I offer my humble service.
Thanks again,
Whisper (Debbie)

Hi folks,
Thanks to Ryan this list is now linked on his front page.
Like everyone else I was stunned to see him close his site so suddenly, and wish him well for the future.
Did anyone here really know him? Ever meet him? He seemed a great guy, but I was curious if anyone knew where he lived (general area), where he worked, etc.
Maybe he knows something about the imminent future and is relocating to somewhere safer?
Simon

Just found the site
I decided this morning to visit JOB to check out the earthquake in Chile and found the link to BoppinAlong. Sure glad to see a whole bunch of friends here. I will let Charles, Karen/EastOR and Jean EastOR know via email about this new location. I am sure glad to see the posting rules posted when I registered and hope that they will be kept. The problems that I had with EarthBoppin was the nastiness that was generated by some that I found myself entering into when my blood pressure went up and the steam started venting. Also, there was some IMHO porno posted by certain individuals that felt didn't belong on a 'family' site. But, overall, I certainly appreciated the hard work that Ryan did trying to keep the board under control and join others in wishing him the best and also hoping that the board will be reactivated.
I just turned 72 on Thursday (25th) and am feeling quite well, thank you; my granddaughter, Anna, turned 19 and my daughter (Anna's mother), Photine, had her feast day (St Photine, the Samaritan woman) yesterday (26th), big family events.
I haven't seen it on this board, but I haven't looked everywhere yet, but we had a major shooting incident in Minkler, CA about 8 miles north of where I live (Reedley) (on Thursday, 25th); http://www.fresnobee.com/2010/02/26/1839186/minkler-suspect-planned-on-deadly.html. I will try to get some info up after the fact of course; as far as I can tell this morning the toll consists of one dead county sheriff, one wounded county sheriff (not critical), and one Reedley police officer who is on life support and, barring a miracle, not expected to live. The perp killed himself.

Thank You SoCal from Swimmer in NorCal
So glad to have this forum...and very much appreciate the format. Kind of freaky to have the Chilean quake occur while Earth Boppin was essentially non-existent! Nice to see familiar names and even "faces" too!
Cheers! Swimmer/Santa Rosa, CA.

Sadly, they reported on the news today that the police officer was taken off life support and has been declared dead. It's a sad story, but at least we don't have to pay for a jury trial and endless appeals for jerk who shot him.

Oh Jacksson, I first heard about the Minkler incident on the radio going to bed one night and then I read about the incident in the LA Times this past weekend. What a shame. It seems like such a nice, quiet town literally out in the middle of nowhere and that can be awful nice. We used to live out in the woods in NJ and it is so peaceful. My husband and I would go outside when it was snowing because it was so quiet that you could actually hear the snow falling. We had deer that came through out yard and Canada geese that would land on the lake in back of it. We had 2 1/2 acres, with an acre fenced in. It was a bit of a pain going to the store but other than that, I would do that kind of living in a heart beat again.
It is a dreadful shame that one person could cause this much havoc and heartbreak for what is going to be two families. I am sure it is a difficult decision for the other officers family but they are eventually going to be faced with the decision on whether to keep life support going. He is only 39... I just don't understand why some people seem literally to go right off the rails in life. If you know any of those affected by this tragic incident, please offer our prayers to them and tell them that while CA is a large state, when something like this happens, we need to stop and thank those who do those jobs.
Again, I am sorry such evil had to visit your small, close little town.
