    UFOs Over Lake Erie?

UFO Over Lake Erie? There it is on Video

EUCLID, Ohio -- For the sixth consecutive night, Eugene Erlikh said a bizarre series of lights flickered outside his apartment building window. "It gets bright, bright, bright," said Erlikh, 20. "Different colors and then it gets dim and as soon as it gets dim, it starts moving from there, this way."

Erlikh said the unexplained light show has appeared in the skies over Lake Erie for six nights and his friend, Nick Hausen, was also a witness. "At first, I figured it was just a star but the way it would move, it would move so fast, I've never seen anything like it."

FOX 8 took the video and pictures to Richard Lee. He is a member of a Cleveland-based UFO club who has tracked the possibility of an alien life form for decades. "The camera is shaking," said Lee. "There's not the controls that you would like to have to do a really in-depth analysis of the video."

However, the self-proclaimed UFO expert said anything is possible because Ohio has a long history of sightings. "It's probably in the top 5 or 10 states as far as the number of sightings and the people involved."

Lee said it's all in the eye of the beholder. But the head of the National UFO Reporting Center said more people need to see it and more research is necessary before it makes anyone else a true believer.

"I couldn't say what it is, I'm not an astronomer," said Erlikh. "I have absolutely no expertise in this field, but I can guarantee you that it is not human!"

FOX 8 checked with NASA's Glenn Research Center. A spokesperson said they have a few aircraft that perform routine testing, but those planes were not flying the past few nights.

CUP (Cleveland Ufology Project) is trying to contact this guy to talk to him and examine his video closer. Richard Lee is a long-standing CUP investigator so he knows what he's talking about. Laughing Their initial feeling is it may not be legit as he has locked out the comments section on youtube so possible questions can't be answered. Video I saw of it on our local news didn't look very interesting to me. If CUP puts out any further feedback, I'll update here.

Apparently he claims he is still seeing them. A few MUFON investigators are going to check it out over the weekend to see if they see anything. I'll keep ya posted! alien

With the upcoming CME from the Sun due to another big comet strike, I bet lots will be seeing unusual activities.

People are still claiming to see it around the same time. Weather was kind of crappy for viewing anything this weekend! I know the MUFON guys were out but haven't heard if they caught anything on camera or video. Weather is supposed to be clearing up so I'm thinking I might go down to the lake and have a look for myself. Surprised

The comet hut the sun 2 days before the eruption. Not the cause of the CME is my belief.

Update: the CUP and MUFON guys have been out to investigate. They had people at a couple of different locations around the lake (east and west) so when the Euclid person saw something, they could contact the person on the westside of Cleveland to see what their view of the object was. Euclid spotted an object and the initial witness was there and he claimed it looked like what he saw. The guys then contacted the person west of Cleveland, they spotted the object and from their point of view they could tell it was a plane coming over the lake to land at Hopkins airport. So their opinion is that the witness had been viewing planes coming across the lake. They are still going to investigate a little further, but that is their opinion.

I was just going to add my 2 cents to the discussion on the "possible UFO" over Lake Erie recently. The whole Great Lakes area has been a hot bed for UFO sightings for the last 45 to 50 years - all you have to do is ask some of the Old Timers. I sure saw my share when I lived in the Great Lakes area and that goes back into the 60s. There is a Naval base north of Chicago, whether they are involved I am not sure, but for 2 or 3 decades people in that area have seen UFO disc dive into Lake Michigan and not come up (in the time the people were watching). Some people from that area always thought that maybe there was a base on the bottom of the Lake. The other side of Michigan was active also, especially over Lake Erie. I think that it is part of the New Madrid fault that runs through the center of Lake Erie and I do know that, from time to time, there are small quakes there. People use to notice that the UFOs would appear over Erie a week or so before a quake and the question was, "Were they causing the quakes or just observing the up coming event". Around 1980/81 I was visiting friends in southeastern Michigan about 100 miles north of Lake Erie. It was a balmy summer evening and we were all outside. Beautiful clear night, no clouds and enjoying some stars. About 9:00PM ONE massive cloud formed in the sky over a coal electrical plant north of us - not another cloud in the sky. The cloud was thick and swirling and then we could see electrical charges going off within the cloud. We sat there for almost 2 hours watching this cloud hang over the electrical plant and it was like a massive electrical storm "just over the plant" and then the electrical charges stopped and the cloud faded off. We always wondered if a UFO was in that cloud and extracting electricity from the plant. There was lots of talk about it in town for days. I can see how some planes, at certain angles, would look like a disc, but there have been many sightings over some of those Lakes for decades. I tried to watch the video posted here and it's not being shown anymore, so I can't comment on that. Actually, I think ETs have been here longer then humans.

Hi Polly, I agree that Lake Erie is a hotbed for UFO sightings and I've actually discussed the power plant theory with some investigators. There is a plant in Eastlake right on the lake where there have been numerous legitimate sightings. This is also the coal-fired power plant blamed for wiping out the electrical grid a few years ago. I think they are still going to stake it out for a few more days. They are also analyzing Eugene's photos and video.

    Hi Linda, Polly,
There are many mysterious things that occur in Lake Erie. One thing that always gets my attention is the fact that their are freak storms, and many people just disappear, no bodies are found.
Keep us posted Linda. Interesting to me too. Peace Judy
