I'm glad you put this under personal because it's very much so. I can tell you that in this state, people take their Democratic leanings very seriously and it's undoubtedly apropos the teachers and professors trying to protect their favorable contracts, and the construction jobs Obama worksite signs we have on most bridges and streets right now. There's a lot of places that have their politics recommended to them by their relatives and their employers and this place is one of them.
There's a definite majority going for Democratic candidates down the column only. The Senate race has been different because the Democratic candidate looks weak, willing to vote whichever way the Obama directions go, and has evidenced very dishonest statements in her efforts to get ahead according to the local press and the ads which Scott Brown runs to pressure the Elizabeth Warren campaign.
This (Mass.) is another state where the Democrats have notably gone forth and urinated or defecated on Romney signs, besides Virginia. I have a Romney sign, one of the few around in a square mile radius. Last night I thought I heard the rattle of a spray paint can being shaken in the front yard but I sent my husband out immediately round about 10:30 pm at night but he didn't see anyone so I was a bit uneasy and possibly too jumpy.
You know, I don't know if signs or ads could change a mind. So many people have indentured themselves to a support position for one side or the other.
That said, I could not tolerate aligning myself with robust cynicism to the presidential campaign which chose to support the President Obama group which has accumulated reams of evidence of wrong-doing like executive priviledge for the fast and furious, staging several large operations looking like a war without declaring one such as in Syria, Libya, Pakistan; funneling money to the energy industry as if lining the pockets of a few supporters; accusing a Cambridge police officer of racism for checking on the security of a professor's house after a neighbor called the police to respond to a suspected break-in by a black man; never paying the City of Boston parking fines maybe since being given special status as an Indonesian national while in Boston, arranging for the court to drop anti-immigration violation proceedings against Uncle Omar who was arrested and then found to be completely under ICE orders to leave the USA; issuing guidelines so that Homeland Security will not use the words Muslim jihad... all these things have made me fed up with the incumbent's active in-your-face fostering of behaviour damaging to the local USA citizens' rights and correct classification of the offenses committed by the Government in trying to sway the courts, the financiers and the banks to people he favors unduly.
