Well, I avoided a near awful car accident tonight.
I was driving on the 101 and in the right hand lane since my exit was a couple exits up. I had a big SUV come up really fast on my rear, and was pretty much tailgating me........very close. There was too much traffic for me to get over to let his selfish, speeding, stupid ass by me.
Then I see an 18 wheeler merging on the freeway very close ahead. The car in front of me guns it and gets in front of him. I think for a second on what to do and decide that I'm not going to make it in front of the 18 wheeler without him pushing me into the middle lane and hitting who knows how many cars. So, I had to brake really fast. I had to make the decision to either be trampled by an 18 wheeler or rear ended by an SUV. I chose the possibility if being rear ended.
I thought the guy in back of me was going to slam into me at 65+mph, because I heard him break hard and see his back end spin out a bit and he swerved over to the middle lane. Luckily no one was in it and no one was in back of him.
I must have had some angles with me tonight or it just wasn't my time. Either way, I had a terrible, stressful day before that and I thought I just might have a heart attack when this happened. I was nearly killed in a car accident as a passenger when I was 17, so I have anxiety enough as it is when I drive, but I am a good, cautious driver that doesn't do stupid crap, like tailgating people.
Needless to say, I am very thankful at the moment. I'm glad God didn't want me to check out in something that I fear the most in life. (besides spiders that is)
