Let me explain to you firstly....On the issue of Gen. Andrew Lewis...Annuals of
Augusta Co., Va by the J. Lewis Peyton family...and this is also an Lewis family
bio....Elizabeth Lewis m. first Mr. Luke, of Alexandria, Va., second Mr.
Ball of Kentucky and thirdly Mr. Marshall of Ky..issue unknown. Of her family as
brothers known, John Lewis m. Patsey Love of Alexandria, Va., Samuel Lewis m.
Miss Whitely, of Col. Whitely of Ky, Charles Lewis m. a dau. of Gen Abraham Trigg of Va. (Later of KY.)
Here is the "hot" item...found under Col. Thomas Marshall on an google
search for genealogy....ready???...
"this site is for those that want the TRUTH and OMG have we been lied to! ...clearly many Native Americans are involved with many broken Marshall trees.
"Trader" Marshall is just one big mystery. The Marshall tree is intermarried with
Shawnee, Wyandot, Cherokee..my current search is around Chief Ross. Family names such as Love, Colbert, Fountain/Fountaine. To get the answers, we must relearn
the history we were force fed. There was no racism at one point. Someday I will
find out who Col. John Marshall was...maybe he will be like George Lowery or John
Ross?...Someday.. I will find out."
This person sounds "angry" to me...I ran out of "memory" on my comptuer trying to access the file though..some 70,000 plus names...I have researched this family
to some extent, because I need to find out who "Mr. Luke" is...to see if there was
an William Luke(became William Larkin) at sometime, or if he was the same as William Lusk in other records. But I know in Pennsylvania there is the mention of "treasurer" of an John Lukens in someone paying an debt. I wonder now is this the "John Larkins" I have been told that was said to of one time been chosen an the tribe "treasurer" for the Cherokee when they were trying to set up the state of "Franklin" which became the state of Tenneessee...George Washington stopped that personally by sending Col. William Blount into the picture. Why?..because he wanted an "intergrated" country maybe?..or the Indian lands?..his son lost his in Bankruptcy after his death. Only an women's group saved "Mt. Veron" knowing its value to our history some day.
What concerns me is the second marriage in above legacy.. is to an Ball (related
to Washington) and the third marriage of the Marshall...my family left Illinois
in an county that is now Marshall Co., Ill. Besides Col. John Strawn's (related to Racheal Reed m. Larkins) said military voucher land realestate adventures, no reason is known why the family is there at an time when it was extremely rural, Strawn was the first there..and looking it over I found it to been an area previously with Indian Mounds near by. I thought of an possible Native American influence also as to his father...he left there to come to Oregon and llive amoung the Mollala tribe(of later Warm Springs Res.)lands. Washington was known, from what I read last night, by Besty Ross way before she made the country's flag..he
gave her the business of making his uniforms as she was widowed from her husband's
death in the miltary. Chief JOhn Ross was an Native American raised by Scottish parents that adopted him named "Ross". I have an paper on the Faquier Co.,(area of Washington's first surveying job as an young lad) Va ... "Keith" family..Reverands from Europe by way of New Jersey/Pennsylvania at one time, traveling some came back through Virginia later on..they have that Abraham Martin was the wife of
Elizabeth Keith the first time around...I think some people also call him Col. Ephraim Martin up in New Jersey also. This line may support my Eliza Ann (Keith) Berry m. Joshua Davis perhaps and widowed..m. James Glenn...of Augusta Co., Va removed during the war to be Govenor of South or North Carolina..I have them both in various papers. She is who I beleive starts my mother's Larkins-Davis line..which I come to find out is really an ancient and very old celtic line of Davies...that involves the celtic clan of "Baoli" in FRance and later into England Scotland, and Ireland. Family back east says this is not so, Elizabeth Davis m. as his second wife Rev. James Bruce Chenoweth, and "daughter" Sarah Ann was an line off an Thomas Davis marriage earlier. He had died. But some things they say are not comparing either on this Bowie-Davis..Pottinger line I found as they have it back to the Potts family that they sent me papers on. Indeed Geo. Washington knew this
Bowie family also of old "Somerset" then Maryland fame.
My particular line I beleive in goes..REV. Sanuel Davies..(wife said both an Mary Simpson and/or Mary Taylor) (my Larkin will has an William Taylor as an neighbor and witness to his will)... (Reeds are kin to the Purcell-Simpson line)....founder of "Princeton University" in New Jersey,..only son of Samuel (m. Ann Boyd) of Accomack co., VA to Augusta Co., VA...son named John in REV. WAR papers say the Indians killed his parents just before the outbreak of the Battle of Point Pleasant and he had to raise his brothers and sisters. From then on..many of these connected lines are "Issue unknown" for many involved. The Berry family are
an host of "orphans" in part that the courts are taking care of in Chalkley's. It
is Samuel Davis is one person helping to take care of them. Whom the Mr.Berry is that married Eliza Ann Keith by first name I have no idea, he may off been the one
killed that all the kids are now seemingly orphans. Berry line m. Abe Lincon's family in Va. to Ky. They were Nancy Hanks uncle and Aunt and they posted bond for her marriage to Thomas Lincoln and became parents of Abe. We are also into whom our "Jame Larkins" was, and there is another "older" one involved also. AS his lineage brings into some of these names also, disputed by other records later on. We at this time can not "find" who his real childen are beyond an few of them. Yes, this lady is correct, there have been an lot of lies, perhaps..and for what reason, I have no idea...I would assume there must be an reason though...perhaps to appease the families that want an legacy and can't find it?...I've waited and researched 30 years now myself...I think the legacy of George Washington making me acknowledge
the entire United States as free and bonded "countrymen" to each other. Only God does one better I think with us all being under him "spiritually". Just thought I'd throw this in to you for reading...I don't know if it interests you or not. Not to many people tell the "fustration" side of genealogy as clearly as does this posting.
